Rooted in Faith. Grounded in Family. Grown with Tradition.
At Hawksbill Peak Farms, our story is one of legacy—of dirt under our boots, prayers around the dinner table, and a deep love for the land passed down through generations. Nestled in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, our farm is more than a place—it’s a calling. A way of life built on belief, belonging, and hard-earned wisdom.
What began as a small family operation has grown into a multigenerational farm devoted to raising registered Akaushi Wagyu and Angus cattle with care and conviction. Our cattle are pasture-raised, grain-finished, and never given antibiotics or added hormones—because we believe good food starts with good stewardship. Each animal is tended by hand. Every decision is made with purpose. And every cut we offer is something we proudly serve at our own table.
But we’re not just raising beef—we’re raising up something worth preserving. For us, farming is more than work. It’s a way to connect with our Creator, care for our community, and continue the values of those who came before us. Our children are learning the rhythm of the seasons, the weight of responsibility, and the joy of hard, honest work. We’re creating a space where they grow up with deep roots—in freedom, faith, and farming.
In a world full of confusion—where people are told all beef comes from factory farms, that grain-finished beef is inferior, or that small family farms are a thing of the past—we stand as living proof that American family farms are alive, thriving, and worth standing behind. We know the frustration customers face when it comes to labels, trends, and cheap alternatives. That’s why we stay committed to honesty, transparency, and truth in everything we do.
As stewards of God’s creation, we put sustainability into practice every day. Through regenerative methods like rotational grazing and natural fertilization, we restore native grasses, improve soil health, and protect the land for future generations. It’s better for the cattle, better for the ecosystem, and better for the families we feed.
From our pasture to your plate—thank you for being part of this journey. We’re honored to feed your family with the same care and conviction we feed our own.
Whether you're a master griller chasing the perfect sear, a parent committed to feeding your family well, or a neighbor who believes in supporting local—you’re in the right place.
When you choose Hawksbill Peak Farms, you’re not just buying premium beef. You’re backing a farm that believes in something bigger:
Faith over flash.
People over profit.
Quality over convenience.
Because around here, we don’t just raise cattle—we raise the standard.
One pasture. One family. One honest cut at a time.
At Hawksbill Peak Farms, the hands that raise your beef belong to a farmer rooted in tradition, driven by purpose, and guided by a deep love for the land, the animals, and his family. They belong to a farmer who knows every acre of land and every animal in his care. Clay carries forward the legacy of those who came before him with old-school grit and a modern understanding of how to care for the land and livestock in a way that sustains them both. From pasture to plate, his work is grounded in faith, in freedom, and in a fierce love for farming done right. This is more than a business—it’s a way of life. And every steak, every roast, every pound of ground beef that leaves Hawksbill Peak Farms carries with it the mark of someone who still believes that honest food should come from honest hands.
Clay Nevitt
Third Generation Cattleman - Steward of the Land
Clay's story is one of legacy, grit, and deep family roots. In 1978, Clay’s grandparents bought a small farm in the Shenandoah Valley and began raising cattle and growing their own food. From a young age, Clay learned the value of hard work, faith, and responsibility - values he now passes on to his own daughter. In 2014, Clay pursued his dream of farming full-time. Rooted deeply in tradition, he believes that farming is more than just a job - it's a way of life and a calling he has been sent to do. As a devoted husband and father, Clay puts his family first in everything he does, from the early mornings tending to the herd to evenings spent sharing stories and riding his daughter around the farm, instilling values, determination, and traditions into his loved ones.
His tireless work ethic and passion for the land drive Hawksbill Peak Farms' commitment to raising healthy, sustainable cattle. Clay's dedication ensures that every cut of beef carries the spirit of hard work, care, and family pride.
Honoring the Backbone of Our Farm Family
Behind every fence mended, calf fed, and pasture tended are the hardworking men and women who help make Hawksbill Peak Farms what it is. While it's Clay that leads the operation, he'd be the first to tell you he doesn't do it alone.
At Hawksbill Peak Farms, the strength of our operation lies not only in our cattle or our pastures — but in the people who have poured their time, sweat, and heart into this land across generations.
Their work is felt in every corner of the farm and every box of beef we send out. They carry the weight of responsibility with pride. We’re grateful for their dedication, their grit, and the heart they bring to this land every day.
Clay’s father, Bryan, has been a lifelong steward of the land. From teaching Clay to mend a fence, to modeling what it means to work with integrity, Bryan’s legacy runs deep in every acre. His quiet strength, deep wisdom, and years of experience are part of the very fabric of the farm. He is always stepping in whenever a job needs doing, and his influence is felt in every corner of Hawksbill Peak. Clay may be the newest generation to work this land, but it’s his father Bryan who helped lay the foundation of the work-ethic he walks with today. Bryan continues to be a guiding hand and steady presence on the farm. He brings wisdom forged through decades of sunrises in the field, and his quiet leadership continues to shape both the land and the family that stewards it.
Every farm has someone who shows up like clockwork — not for the spotlight, but because they care. For Hawksbill Peak Farms, that’s Vic. He’s more than an extended family member — he’s a constant presence; the kind of man who lends his hands without being asked and never backs down from a hard day’s work. Vic's dedication, humor, and work ethic have become woven into the daily rhythm of the farm. Vic is a pillar of support we’re thankful to have.
Together, their contributions remind us that a farm is more than the fields it covers or the cattle it raises. It’s built on relationships, shared effort, and a deep-rooted love for the land — and for each other.
